WISH I WAS HALF FINISHED

August is half gone.  Wish I was half finished with my goals for the month.  Funny how so many daily happenings get in the way of reaching them…shopping…family birthdays…medical problems…a new printer to be set up…weather either too hot or too wet…and I move so much slower than I used to.

When I first realized age was catching up with me I would cuss and grumble and complain and get even less done.  Now I just shuffle priorities and slowly moving forward at whatever speed the day brings…and goals do get reached and I’m grateful.

The slides are scanned (all 2000 of them) and de-cluttering the house is finished.  I am working on the cradle boards and the dragon has been moved down a notch on the list because we are working on getting a few maintenance chores done before summer is over…and remodeling the bathroom got moved to the top of the list.

…after all…AT THE END OF THE DAY…our house is aging as fast as we are and we need to keep up.

TIME FLIES…IT’S BEEN TOOO LONG

Surgery over…healing done…time to get back too it and set some goals.

Here are my picks for August.  I have six more rooms to de-clutter.  I can’t believe how much junk I have I no longer need or want or am just tired of looking at.

I scanned all my personal slides several years ago.  But I bought a bunch of thrift store slides awhile back to use in my photo art and it’s time to get them scanned so I can use them.

Sanding is better done outside in summer.  I have recycled cradle boards that need to be ready for me when I have more great art ideas.

And last but not least I always like to have a project to work on when I sit down and put my feet up to rest or watch TV.  I am going to try to finish a crocheted dragon for Logan before he is too old to enjoy it.  His will be grey and purple.

Follow along with me this month.  Maybe by sharing them it will give me more incentive to really get them done and quite wasting time just talking about them...because…

AT THE END OF THE DAY…at my age there isn’t a lot of time left to waste.

 HOTTER THAN &%@

I am a list maker.  I write the goals for each day at the top but since life never stands still things frequently get shuffled around.

My de-cluttering and stash projects move up and down the list as time allows and then of course there is always the unexpected that can pop up out of nowhere…like the heat wave that came way too early this year.

Two of the things I put off much too often are sitting down to just read and playing and writing in my journal so for the next few days, instead of complaining about how hot it is, I am going to forget about my list and make a nice comfortable place on the deck to read and write.

after all…AT THE END OF THE DAY…we can’t control the weather and  the heat wave will be over when it’s over and not a day before.

IF AT FIRST YOU DON’T SUCCEED…..

I haven’t written in my blog since 2016 except for one post two years later saying I was going to start posting regularly again…fast forward two and a half years…

Here are a few highlights of that last post.

‘Realistically this is the last chapter of my life…my body moves slower, fatigues more quickly, and is not as agile as it once was…It is a time of transition and I have decided to write about it because I want to share the journey.’

All of these things are still true…especially the part apart moving slower…

So…AT THE END OF THE DAY…I’ll try try again…and maybe this time it will actually happen…

THE ISSUE OF TIME

At what age does time begin to loom so large and begin to go so fast…from daylight savings time to standard time, from a time of the crowded accumulation of wants to a more peaceful time of less, from our autumn years to our winter years.
For me time is running out.  Realistically this is the last chapter of my life.  It is not a good thing or a bad thing…it just is.
My mind is still sound and still racing with new creative ideas but my body moves slower, fatigues more quickly, and is not as agile as it once was so I am having to find new ways to do things I once did without thinking.  It is a time of transition and I have decided to write about it because I want to share the journey.  I know many people never accept growing older but I’m looking forward to it.
After all…AT THE END OF THE DAY…you can’t change time…but you can change how you deal with the time you have left…and enjoy the ride.
