It's been a
long week. Monday sweet Ady had a
running encounter with a door and the door won...A concussion, an injured nose,
and a black eye. A long sleepless night waiting for news from
the ER Monday night then a long day waiting to see what Children's had to say on
Friday.
And since
the universe has a way of grouping things together as a challenge to my
planning and keeping it together skills, I had my son and his film crew here on
Friday night sleeping on my family room floor and all day Saturday so they
could shoot a short film in my backyard and at an old cemetery up the road.

And also on Saturday I had an art show in
Granite Falls.
Red Letter Day |
All this
took place in over 80 degree weather (except for the thunder storms on Saturday
for the art show). So we did the only
logical thing to stay sane...we took the day off on Wednesday and went to the
movies...and had a visit with Ady to give her lots of hugs and kisses.
My word
this year is Accomplish and just over half way through the year I am learning
as much about what it doesn't mean as what it does...it doesn't mean
accomplishing everything 'all at once'.
Priorities
change from day to day and many things that need to be done get put off...and family
is ALWAYS at the top of the list, yet that doesn't have to mean hovering,
worrying, and chaos. For me that means
doing what I can, staying focused and filling in at least some of the waiting
times with taking care of myself.
All the
buttons came off and they didn't have to install a zipper...the nose is just
cracked but the orbital floor bone in her eye is broken, so now it is another waiting game. Best case, and I always vote for that, she
will heal without any surgery...worst case she will need surgery to keep her
eye from sinking...but one day at a time.
No good worrying about something that 'might' or might not happen.

The house
guests have come and gone and the house is still intact.
Night Shoot |
Today
things are slowly getting back to normal...and there is some free time before
the next round begins...maybe even enough time for a trip to the beach...
AT THE END
OF THE DAY...thanks for letting me ramble...I needed that.
